On Thursday, November 20, 2025, members of the Rotary Club of Tallahassee—Alasdair Roe, Kim Koutnik, Eric Clark and Mariah Kill—conducted a critical training session for educators at Chiles High School in Tallahassee. The training was coordinated with the help of Dr. Michelle Gayle, assistant Superintendent of Leon County Schools and President of the Rotary Club of Tallahassee Southside. The focus? Equipping them to administer Naloxone, a life-saving drug used to reverse opioid overdoses.
As overdose deaths continue to occur in our community, initiatives like this are more important than ever. In partnership with the Rotary Action Group Addiction Prevention North America and Hikma Pharmaceuticals, The Rotary Club of Tallahassee is stepping up to combat this crisis. Together, they’ve trained numerous community members to administer Kloxxado, a new and more effective form of Naloxone.
Kloxxado is a game-changer in overdose prevention—it works faster, lasts longer, and is even more effective at reversing overdoses and saving lives. The training is straightforward, taking just under an hour to ensure participants are confident in their ability to respond during an emergency.
By empowering educators with these vital skills, the Rotary Club of Tallahassee continues its mission to serve the community and address pressing public health challenges.
